Live stream and AVOD targeting

Overview

Live stream and AVOD targeting lets you choose to include or exclude live or on demand video content in your campaigns and deals. The options are defined as follows:

  • Live stream: displays ads only during live, real-time videos such as sports, concerts, or broadcasts.
  • AVOD (Advertising-Based Video On Demand): displays ads only on recorded or on-demand videos, not during live streams. Viewers watch free content with ads shown before, during, or after.

The dedicated report dimension for live stream targeting is “Live stream”. For more information, see Report dimensions.

 

Access

To access live stream and AVOD targeting, select Media Planning from the navigation menu. The live stream and AVOD targeting options will appear in the Ad format section of the Targeting panel. You can also access live stream and AVOD targeting directly from the line item page. For more information, see Create line item: targeting.

Configure live stream and AVOD targeting

To configure live stream and AVOD targeting, follow these steps:

  1. In the Targeting section, expand the Ad format tab.
  2. In the Content source type section, select one of the following:
  • All: targets all video content, both live and on-demand.
  • Live stream: targets only live video content, excluding on demand.
  • AVOD: targets only recorded or on-demand video content, excluding live stream.

The inventory insights are recalculated in real time, displaying the available volume for the selected SPO targeting options. For more information, see Get inventory insights.
