Metrics and bid statuses

Overview

This article summarizes the metrics and bid statuses available when troubleshooting deals or line items using the Troubleshooting tool.

Metrics

The metrics used in the Troubleshooting tool include:

  • Bid Requests: the ad opportunities that were sent as bid requests to the selected seats.
  • Bids: the bids placed by buyers on the ad opportunity, also known as bid responses.
  • Eligible bids: the eligible bids that haven't been filtered by publishers or Equativ's rules prior to the competition.
  • Wins: the ad opportunities that won the internal Equativ competition.
  • Impressions: the client-side impressions, representing the counting pixels triggered by the browser when rendering the creative.

Bid statuses

The following table lists the bid statuses, including their definitions, potential resolutions, and recommendations to assist in troubleshooting deals or line items.

Bid status Description
Answered with "No bid" status

The bid was received from the DSP but it didn't return any campaign for the given bid request.

Solution: Reach out to the DSP's support team.

Below Deal BidFloor

The price was below the deal's bid floor.

Solution: Increase the bid price.

Below Holistic+ BidFloor

The price was below Equativ's Holistic+ BidFloor. This bid floor is calculated by Equativ in the context of the integrated competition between direct campaigns, Equativ programmatic and third-party SSPs/exchanges connected via header bidding.

Solution: Increase the bid price.

Below post-call Bid Floor

The bid was below the specific floor price set by the publisher.

Solution: Increase the bid price.

Below Requested BidFloor

The price was below the requested bid floor.

Solution: Increase the bid price.

Below Yield Bid Floor The bid was below the floor price computed by Equativ's yield algorithm.
Bid Missing Markup Type The partner responded with multiple impression types but didn't specify a markup type.
Bid response does not respect Deal parameters

The parameters of the bid response and the deal don't align.

Solution: Check if the buyer seat matches the buyer seat in the deal.

Bid Was On Another Competing Deal The bid was returned by the DSP, but it was either not associated with the specified deal or came from an unrelated buyer. This typically happens when the deal ID doesn't match between the systems.
Blocked By Creative Review Rejected The bid response was blocked because the publisher rejected it using Equativ's Video Creative Review tool.
Blocked by a delivery rule set by publisher

A rule set by the publisher triggered the blocking of the bid.

Solution: Reach out to the publisher, Equativ's support team, or sales contact.

Blocked Creative Already Selected The bid was rejected because the creative's CreativeHashCode was already selected in the ongoing video ad pod resolution.
Blocked Creative Duration The video ad response was blocked due to the video creative duration in seconds being outside the range specified by the video.minduration and video.maxduration fields in the bid request.
Blocked Excluded Advertiser Category The bid was rejected because an advertiser exclusion category applies to at least one advertiser in the ongoing video ad pod resolution.
Creative Blocked By Bcat The winning bid was blocked because it included a creative with a category, provided by Google, which was blocked in the bid request's bcat field.
Creative Blocked By Creative Filtering The winning bid was blocked because it included a creative that was blocked by the Google filtering service.
Creative Blocked By Error Rate The bid response was blocked automatically because the creative generated a high error rate.
Deal Unmatched Advertiser Category The advertiser category in the bid request didn't match the one received in the bid response.
Deal Unmatched Buyer The targeted buyers in the bid request didn't match the ones received in the bid response.
Deal Unmatched Creative Hash The creative hash in the bid request didn't match the one received in the bid response.
Deal Unmatched Partner Id The Partner ID sent in the bid request didn't match the one received in the bid response.
Deal Unmatched Size The sizes of the creatives sent in the bid request and received in the bid response didn't match.
Deal Unmatched Size

The sizes of the creatives sent in the bid request and received in the bid response didn't match.

Solution: Change the creative size settings to allow more sizes. Alternatively, reach out to the DSP's support team.

Invalid Advertiser Domain The adomain in the URL was missing, invalid, or not properly formatted. 
Incorrect Bid Response

The JSON format in the bid response is incorrect.

Solution: Reach out to the DSP's support team.

Invalid BURL The BURL in the bid response was invalid and doesn't follow the correct http(s) URL format. 
Invalid Creative

The creative is incorrect.

Solution: Check the creative's setup.

Invalid Currency

The DSP was bidding in the wrong currency.

Solution: Reach out to the DSP's support team.

Invalid Impression Id

The impression ID sent by the DSP is incorrect.

Solution: Reach out to the DSP's support team.

Invalid Native Ad

The native ad returned by the DSP is incorrect.

Solution: Reach out to the DSP's support team.

Invalid Traffic The winning bid was blocked because Equativ's technology partner Human Mediaguard determined that the inventory is invalid traffic.
Invalid web response status

The DSP returned neither HTTP 200 (offering a bid) nor HTTP 204 ("No Bid" status).

Solution: Reach out to the DSP's support team.

Losses

The auction lost against another bidder.

Solution: Increase the bid price.

Loss By Low Delivery Rate Based on the bid’s expected delivery rate, the expected revenue was lower than the revenue from the actual auction winner.
Loss by CPM Per Second The video ad response was blocked because its CPM per second was too low.
Missing BURL The BURL in the bid response was null.
New advertiser

The advertiser hasn't been audited yet. The auditing process for a new advertiser takes 24 hours, after which the deal or line item can start.

Solution: Reach out to Equativ's support team or sales contact in case the advertiser has already been audited or the audit takes more than 24 hours.

No bid or bid too late

No bid was received from the DSP, or the bid was received after the auction was cleared.

Solution: Reach out to the DSP's support team.

Offered normalized price below zero The bid was rejected due to the price falling below zero after deducting the vendor costs or other fees.
Sensitive Advertiser Blocked by Equativ

Equativ has classified the advertiser as sensitive and therefore blocked it.

Solution: Reach out to Equativ's support team or sales contact.

Sensitive Buyer blocked by Equativ

Equativ has classified the buyer as sensitive and therefore blocked it.

Solution: Reach out to Equativ's support team or sales contact.

Sensitive Creative blocked by Equativ Quality Tool

Equativ has classified the creative as sensitive and therefore blocked it.

Solution: Reach out to Equativ's support team or sales contact.

SKAdNetwork Empty Response The bid response was rejected: it required SKAdNetwork capabilities (BidResponse.seatbid.bid.ext.skadn.network wasn't null), but the bid’s BidResponse.seatbid.bid.ext.skadn.network field was empty or null. The BidRequest.imp.ext.skadn.network field is only sent when the inventory supports SKAdNetwork capabilities.
SKAdNetwork Invalid Response The bid response was rejected: it required SKAdNetwork capabilities (BidResponse.seatbid.bid.ext.skadn wasn't null), but the bid's SKAdNetwork ID wasn't in the plist of allowed SKAdNetwork IDs. These IDs are sent in the BidRequest.imp.ext.skadn field. This field is only sent when the inventory supports SKAdNetwork capabilities.
Wins The bids that won the internal Equativ competition. In contexts where Equativ doesn't own the final impression decision, such as header-bidding integrations, this is the bid that Equativ returns to enter the competition.

No bid statuses

The "No bid" status occurs at the bid request level and provides reasons why demand partners didn't bid on ad opportunities. For more information, see No bid status.

The following table describes each "No bid" status along with a recommended solution.

Another line item selected From the eligible line items, another one has been selected. No recommended solution is applicable.
Bids-per-minute limit The campaign pacing data is missing. Reach out to your Equativ contact.
The company pacing data is missing.
The pacing data is expired.
Bids-per-minute limit The campaign or line item was rejected due to bids-per-minute (BPM) limit set by budget pacer. Typically, requires no intervention. However, increase the budget in case the campaigns or line items are frequently rejected based on this no bid reason.
Campaign not active The campaign isn't active or out of schedule. Set status to active and review the campaign's start and end dates.
Company not active The company isn't active. Reach out to your Equativ contact.
Creative - Creative size mismatch The creative size doesn't match the size sent in the bid request. Use creatives with more common sizes.
Creative - Creative type not supported The creative size isn't supported. Review your creatives.
Creative - Creative - Video bitrate mismatch The video bitrate doesn't match the bit rate allowed for the ad opportunity. Use videos with more common bitrates.
Creative - Video too short The video is shorter than the minimum duration required for the ad opportunity. Use longer videos.
Creative - Video too long The video is longer than the maximum duration allowed for the ad opportunity. Use shorter videos.
Creative - Video linearity mismatch The VAST creative doesn't match the linearity requirements of the ad opportunity (linear/non-linear). No recommended solution is applicable.
Creative - Video mime type mismatch The video mime type isn't allowed for the ad opportunity. Use more common mime types.
Creative - Video protocol mismatch The VAST version isn't allowed for the ad opportunity. Use a more recent VAST protocol version.
Creative - Video API framework not supported The requested video API framework isn't supported. No recommended solution is applicable.
Creative - Video creative has no extracted VAST attributes The malfunction occurred in the system responsible for extracting VAST attributes. Reach out to your Equativ contact.
Creative - Native schema missmatch The native creative doesn't match the expected Native schema. Reach out to your Equativ contact.
Deal floor not reached The floor price wasn't reached. Increase unit price.
Digital Security Act (DSA) The publisher isn't able to render Digital Security Act (DSA) transparency information. Reach out to your Equativ contact.
Frequency capping The data couldn't be loaded. Requires intervention only in case of significant impact on delivery. Reach out to your Equativ contact if needed.
There is a limit at the campaign level. Loosen frequency capping settings at the campaign level.
There is a limit at the line item level. Loosen frequency capping settings at the line item level.
The frequency capping system isn't available. Reach out to your Equativ contact.
Insecure creative asset (HTTP) The creative contains HTTP assets but HTTPS assets are required. Ensure the creative contains only HTTPS assets.
No GDPR consent The consent string is empty. Adjust vendors and purposes in creative trackers. No mitigation possible in case of parsing errors or empty consent strings.
The consent string parse error occurred.
The post conversion vendor isn't allowed.
The post click conversion isn't allowed.
The post impression conversion isn't allowed.
No MSPA consent The consent string parse error occurred. Adjust vendors and purposes in creative trackers. No mitigation possible in case of parsing errors or empty consent strings.
The notice is missing.
The user has opted out.
The consent is missing.
Over delivery The delivery was flagged as stopped by over-delivery checker. Typically, requires no intervention. Delivery will resume automatically based on its progress.
Throttling - No win No win occurred due to the throttling mechanism, as the campaign or line item generated a high number of bids that didn't result in impressions. Review the creative markup and budget settings.
Tracking Click URL The click URL is missing in the bid request. Review your creatives.
