Overview

With creative templates you can configure ad formats in the Creative section in insertions. Each creative template has a set of parameters to control the behavior of the ad. Equativ’s creative template library lists all available creative templates with status, details on their usage in the network, options etc.

Access

Go to Inventory > Creative templates.

Access to the creative template library requires the user permission "Create and edit creative templates".

Creative template types

Official creative templates

Official creative templates are created and maintained by Equativ. They are made available to all Equativ customers by default. As an Equativ customer you have read-only access to official creative templates: editing, deleting, replacing, archiving etc. is not possible. You can, however, access some valuable information (version history, release notes etc.).

Updates to official creative templates

Whenever Equativ releases an update (new version) of an official creative template, the given template will be highlighted as obsolete in each insertion using the template - see screenshot below. To apply the update to all insertions using the template, proceed as follows:

go to the Creative template library
from the list, locate the creative template in question
click on the "..." icon (as shown in chapter "Creative template options" below)
click on View insertions => you get redirected to the Insertion follow-up
from the insertion list, enter each insertion and navigate to the Creative template section
click on Update to apply the latest creative template version
click Save and put online
repeat the process for each insertion

Custom creative templates

Custom creative templates can be managed by Equativ’s customers (creating, editing, replacing etc.). They are only available in the customer network where they have been created. Click the New creative template button to create a new custom creative template; read more in Develop creative templates.

Search and filters

You can:

use the search box to find creative templates. Note: the search option takes the applied filters into account.
filter by type: Official creative templates, Custom creative templates.
filter by publication status: All, Published, Inactive, Draft, Deprecated.

Columns

Column name	Columns description
Channel	The monetization channel: Direct, RTB, Mediation.
Environment	The environment: Web, App, Addressable TV.
Impression Type	The impression type: Display, In-stream, Out-stream, Native, Audio.
Ins. to update	The number of insertions required to be updated because they are not using the latest version of the published creative template.
Last version	The date and user name of last published version.
Name	The creative template name.
Status	The current status of the creative template: Published (green) - latest version of creative template is published and available for selection in insertions. Draft (gray) - creative template is in draft version. Inactive (red) - creative template is not available for selection in insertions, but can be reactivated. Deprecated - creative template has been replaced by another one and can thus not be used anymore; see release notes of creative template for more details.
Tags	A list of tags that describe the creative template features/compatibility: Viewability, Safeframe, Expand, Sticky, Overlay, Multi-creative, Mobile friendly, Responsive, Autoclose etc.

Customize creative template list

You can customize the creative template list as follows:

Hide/Display columns - using the selector shown in the screenshot above.
Pin columns - hover over a column name and click the pin icon. The pinned column will then move to the left.
Rearrange columns - hover over a column header and drag and drop it to the desired location.

Creative template options

To access the options, hover over the Last version column of the desired creative template, click the "..." button next to your template, and select the desired option.

This table explains each option:

Option	Description
Deactivate	deactivates the creative template; campaign managers cannot select it in insertions anymore; keep in mind: the insertions that are currently using the creative template continue to run with it until their end available for custom creative templates only
Delete	deletes the creative template entirely available for custom creative templates only
Documentation	link to the specification article of the creative template in Equativ’s Help Center available for official creative templates only
Edit	template editing documentation Develop creative templates available for custom creative templates only
Replace	deprecates this creative template and replaces it by another one Keep in mind: the insertions do not start to run with the replaced version right away: campaign managers still have to go to the Creative section, select the version, and put the insertion online! available for custom creative templates only
Update insertions	updates all the insertions that are not using the latest version of this creative template. Keep in mind: the updated insertions must be put online by campaign managers so that the insertions start to deliver their ads with the updated version of the creative template available for custom creative templates only
Versions	displays a list of all versions of the creative template, including release notes; Compare to current version - shows a comparison window of this version compared with the current version (modifications are colored); you can also select and compare other versions in the comparison window Back to this version - Reverts the creative template back to this version; option available for owners of custom creative templates only; keep in mind: the insertions do not start to run with the version you reverted back to right away: campaign managers still have to go to the Creative section, select the version, and put the insertion online!
View insertions	displays the Insertion follow up page which lists the insertions that are using this creative template
