Create and manage advertisers

Overview

To start using the Activation module, you first need to create an advertiser, that is, a client or brand on whose behalf ads will be served. Once the advertiser is created, you can create campaigns and line items, and add creatives.

Access

From the navigation menu, select Advertisers to create a new advertiser, or Campaigns if you already have an advertiser created. You can also create an advertiser while creating a campaign. For more information, see Create and manage campaigns.

Create advertisers

To create a new advertiser, follow these steps:

  1. Select the + New advertiser button at the top right of the page.
  2. In the Name field, enter the advertiser's name, with a maximum of 100 characters, using only UNICODE characters. ⓘ Note: the advertiser name you specify when creating an advertiser corresponds to the name on whose behalf the ad is displayed, as defined by the behalf field in the OpenRTB specification. The Maestro company corresponds to the name of the entity that paid for the ad, as defined by the paid field in the OpenRTB specification.
  3. In the URL field, enter the customer's domain in the format domain.com. Make sure to enter the brand's domain, not the agency’s. For example, if the campaign is for BMW, enter bmw.com.
  4. In the IAB category field, select from a list of categories based on the IAB Content Taxonomy. You can select one category per advertiser.
  5. Select Create.

Your new advertiser will be listed at the top of the Advertisers list.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) in the interface are required.

Digital Services Act (DSA): To comply with the Digital Services Act (DSA), Equativ will send the advertiser name you specify, along with the name of your Maestro company, to Equativ's SSP. The DSA is a European Union regulation that aims to increase transparency for online platforms, ensuring that consumers and businesses have greater confidence in online products, services, and advertising. This regulation requires that publishers display DSA transparency information to end users alongside the ads, ensuring clarity and trust in digital advertising practices.

Manage advertisers

Advertisers can be managed through various actions that let you modify their settings, filter, sort, or archive/unarchive them. Specifically, you can:

  • Filter: to search for a specific advertiser, type the name or URL in the search box.
  • Sort: to sort the advertisers, click the column name.
  • Edit: to edit an advertiser, click the three-dot icon next to its name and select Edit. In the Edit Advertiser window, make your changes and click Save
  • Archive/Unarchive: to archive an advertiser, click the three-dot icon next to its name and select Archive. To reverse this action, select Unarchive. ⓘ Note: When archiving an advertiser, all of its child items, that is campaigns and line items, will also be archived. When unarchiving an advertiser, its associated child campaigns and line items will be set to inactive status. You will need to individually activate each campaign and line item.
