Send IRIS_ID

Overview

IRIS․TV provides a video data platform where it assigns a persistent, unique video identifier, called IRIS_ID, to any video ingested into the IRIS․TV platform. The characteristics of the video (and additional enriched data) are attached to this IRIS_ID. 

Publishers pass the IRIS_ID to the programmatic chain and SSPs and DSPs can retrieve the characteristics of the video content attached to the IRIS_ID, using the IRIS․TV contextual API and target campaigns based on contextual segments.

Passing the IRIS_ID to Equativ

To set up your video content for the retrieval of the IRIS_ID, please refer to IRIS․TV’s technical documentation

Once the retrieval is set up, you can start passing the IRIS_ID to Equativ. The sections below explain how publishers can pass the IRIS_ID, depending on the type of integration with Equativ.

Passing the IRIS_ID in Ad API integrations

In Ad API integrations, you can pass the IRIS_ID using the ?ctid= parameter.

Passing the IRIS_ID in open RTB (server side bidding) integrations

In open RTB (server side bidding) integrations, you can pass the IRIS_ID using the content․id field in the bid request.

Passing the IRIS_ID in Springserve, Publica and similar integrations

In integrations using Publica, Springserve or similar services, you can pass the IRIS_ID by enabling it in the configuration menu of the Equativ bidder - please refer to the documentation of the according platform.

Passing the IRIS_ID in prebid.js integrations

In prebid.js integrations, passing the IRIS_ID is not yet supported.

Targeting IRIS_IDs

Targeting the actual IRIS․TV contextual segments will be available in Equativ’s Monetization (EMP) and Buyer Connect (EBC) platforms as of early 2024 (see section “Equativ IRIS․TV integration” above). 

 

At this time you can target IRIS_IDs using the Content ID field in the Content metadata targeting settings of in-stream video insertions and in deals.

Targeting IRIS_IDs in insertions

To target an IRIS_ID in an insertion:

  • create an insertion with the impression type In-stream video
  • in the Targeting section, expand the Content metadata section
  • from the dropdown menu, select Content ID
  • add the IRIS_ID in the Value field
  • click Add

Targeting IRIS_IDs in deals

To target an IRIS_ID in a private auction or preferred deal:

  • create your private auction or preferred deal
  • from the dropdown menu under Content Metadata, select Content IDs
  • add the IRIS_ID to the field
