Forecast criteria availability
Overview
This document explains the conditions under which forecast criteria are available in the Forecast user interface.
Access forecast criteria
To access the forecast criteria, go to Campaigns > Forecast: the forecast criteria are located on the Select criteria tab.
General availability rule
In general, any criterion is available in the forecast if it was used as a targeting criterion in an insertion. This insertion must not have been in status Finished for longer than the last six months.

The following table lists all forecast criteria with the following information:

- The information if the General availability rule applies.

Get forecast for new criteria
As stated in the General availability rule, a criterion must have been targeted in an insertion to be considered by the forecast. If you need to get forecast data but don't want to use the criterion yet in an actual campaign for a client, you can create an insertion used only to add each criterion you want the forecast to take into account. Proceed as follows:
- Create a site and page and enable at least one format, using the page group feature.
- Don't implement the ad tags for this site and page.
- Create a campaign with an end date far in the future.
- Set the campaign to the status Sold.
- Create an insertion in this campaign with the following settings:
- In the Inventory section, select the site, page, and format you have just created.
- Add the targeting criterion you wish to get forecast data for.
- Save the insertion. There is no need to put it online.
- Wait until the following day and start querying the forecast with the new criterion.
- Add additional targeting criteria later, whenever you need to forecast them.
