Skin + classic banner

Overview

Formerly named "Skin + Default banner (roadblock)". The "Skin + classic banner" creative template displays at least two ads from a single insertion: a “Skin” ad (usually U-shaped), shown on the left, top and right side of the page and one or more banner ads located within the page’s content.

Most common sizes

Most common RTB sizes of the Skin ad: 990 x 90, 1800 x 1000, 2000 x 1400, 728 x 90, 1000 x 200, 1200 x 250. Most common RTB sizes of the Banner ad: 320 x 480, 300 x 250, 160 x 600, 728 x 90, 960 x 90, 970 x 250, 1010 x 300, 970 x 90, 980 x 250.

Creative template parameters

Horizontal offset only for html5 and creative script Specifies the position, for HTML5 and creative script only; positive number: to the right side; negative number (with "-"): to the left side. 0
Offset element ID Specifies the element id or the class for which to apply the offset; leave this field blank to add an offset for the whole page (body tag).  
Offset element type Specifies the type of element for which to apply the offset. id
Offset value for the element id Specifies the value of offset for the defined element; "margin-top" will be added to the specified element. 0
Open in same window Specifies if the ad should open in the same window or not. false
Render in Safeframe Specifies if the ad will be rendered inside a safeframe. This feature can only be used for creative scripts. false
Skin formats Specifies the format ID(s) where the Skin ad is to be displayed. Failing to add the format ID(s) here will lead to the Skin creative being displayed as a banner, which may break the page since the Skin ad is too big.  
Vertical offset only for html5 and creative script Specifies the position, for HTML5 and creative script only; the value of this field moves the background to the bottom. 0
z-index only for html5 and creative script Specifies the background's z-index; taken into account in case the creative is a creative script; normally, changing this value is not necessary. -100

Features

Insertion/creative setup

To ensure the proper functioning of the creative template:

  • in the Placement section of the insertion, select all formats where the Skin and banner(s) are to be displayed.
  • select the Creative display mode “All”; for more information about this option, see Create direct insertion: inventory.
  • upload the Skin creative and the banner creative; for each creative, select the appropriate format in the “Available formats” field; for more information about creative setup, see Add and manage creatives.
  • additionally, specify the format ID(s) where the Skin ad is to be displayed in the “Skin formats” parameter of the creative template (see “Creative template parameters” above). Failing to add the format ID(s) here will lead to the Skin creative being displayed as a banner which may break the page since the Skin ad is too big.

Click management for HTML5 creatives

This ad format is able to identify the click destination for HTML5 creatives by using:

  • the click counting library; for more information, see Manage click counting
  • the clicktag variables passed in the source of the iframe; Important: HTML5 creatives must have the click destination recognition implemented:
