Video error code reference
Overview
Equativ's video errors are a useful tool to troubleshoot problems in video integrations or insertions, letting you track lost opportunities and understand the causes of poor delivery rates. Equativ provides the video errors specified by the VAST standard as well as its own proprietary video errors.
To get the insights, create a video error report in Instant Report Builder.
Create video error report
To create an Instant Report Builder report with video errors, proceed as follows:
- Sign in to EMP.
- Go to Reports > Instant Report Builder.
- Click Select template.
- Select the Video troubleshooting report template.
- Observe the Video Error Count metric and the Video Error Code Name dimension. For more details, see “Video error codes” at the end of this document.
- Finish the report configuration, selecting the appropriate dimensions, metrics and filters.
The Video Error Count may appear unusually high due to the Ad buffet feature supported by Equativ’s In-Stream Video Plugin and Embedded Ad Manager: the player requests a pod size—a specific number of video ads—along with additional fallbacks. If an error occurs while attempting to play an ad, the player automatically tries the next ad in the buffet until the requested number of ads—the pod size—is played. This behavior might therefore inflate the overall Video Error Count.
